Welcome to Rongxian, the famous "China (Western) Ceramics Capital". From quaint wine jars to exquisite art pottery, "Rongzhou Ceramics" carries a thousand-year-old craft and underpins the county economy of this small city in southern Sichuan—the county's pottery industry chain cluster now exceeds 200 enterprises, with over 30,000 people engaged in the pottery industry, and about 47% of the country's wine jars come from Rongxian artisans. However, on this land interwoven with "clay and fire", ceramics enterprises are facing a severe test: gas costs. Ceramic production is a typical high-energy-consuming industry, with the firing process being a major energy consumer. Although Rongxian has promoted enterprises to complete the "coal-to-gas" conversion, achieving clean energy transformation, this shift has not changed the industry's "energy-driven" nature; instead, it has made enterprises extremely sensitive to natural gas price fluctuations. For many ceramics enterprises, gas costs have become the largest proportion of production costs, directly squeezing already thin profit margins. With high gas prices on one side and product price pressures from market competition on the other, Rongxian ceramics enterprises are enduring the "two-way squeeze" of survival. Cost reduction and efficiency improvement are no longer a choice but a life-or-death mandatory question. At the same time, environmental constraints are tightening. Rongxian has built the first industrial enterprise carbon account in Sichuan Province, conducting precise accounting and labeling management of carbon emissions for key industries such as ceramics and tea. The labeling results are directly linked to enterprise credit access and financing costs. This means carbon emissions are no longer "free" but have become a direct "liability" and financing cost for enterprises.
